The European American Chamber of Commerce Texas is honored to announce a business program and holiday reception in Dallas featuring H.E. Francisco Duarte Lopes, the Ambassador of Portugal to the United States, and Carlos Moura, Director/Trade Commissioner, USA.

 

Francisco Duarte Lopes

Ambassador of Portugal in USA since 2022

Ambassador Duarte Lopes, a career diplomat, previously served as Portugal’s Permanent Representative to the United Nations from 2017 to 2022. Before this role, he held key positions within Portugal’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, achieving the rank of Ambassador in December 2015. He served as Political Director, Director-General for European Affairs, and Chief of Staff to the Secretary of State for European Affairs, demonstrating his expertise in European and institutional affairs. Duarte Lopes also worked as a diplomatic advisor to the Prime Minister and held positions in Portugal’s Permanent Representation to the European Union. His Diplomatic Career began in 1989, and he has extensive international experience, including postings in Pakistan as Denmark. Ambassador Duarte Lopes, born in Castelo Branco, Portugal, holds a law degree from the Faculdade de Direito de Lisboa.



Carlos Moura

Director / Trade & Investment Commissioner, USA since 2024.

Initiated his career as a Human Resources Expert with AIG before moving on to the involvement with Portugal’s external economics. Since then, have held several roles in Human Resources, International Financing and Product Management, with postings in London, Dublin, Singapore, São Paulo and the Nordic Markets (based in Stockholm, Sweden).
Active member of the Swedish Portuguese Chamber of Commerce from 2016 to 2022, of the Portuguese Chamber of Commerce in São Paulo from 2012 to 2016 and European Chamber of Commerce in Singapore (Eurocham) from 2008 to 2011, as well as a Member of the Board of Directors for the EU-Malaysia Chamber of Commerce and Industry (EUMCCI).
Graduated in Business and Public Administration (1992), specializing in Human Resource Management, from Lisbon University, holding two post-graduate diplomas in Diplomacy (1993) and Consulting & Training related to Company Management and Organization (1993), from the University of Lisbon. From University College of Dublin (UCD) holds a certificate in International Development: Key Issues and Challenges (2003-2004).

Dykema’s Dallas office is located at 1717 Main Street in the Comerica Bank Tower.  The parking garage is located on the Elm Street side of the building.  The entrance is on the left side (*Note - Elm Street is a one way).  Please enter the visitor parking area and pull a ticket.  You may park on any level (P1, P2 or P3). Take the garage elevator up to the lobby and then go to the elevator bank for the 42st Floor.  Once you arrive on the 42st Floor, the Office Administrator will validate your parking ticket.
